Victoria Skimboards are well-known industry experts that are one of the oldest skimboarding brands still around today. They claim to have coined the term skimboarding which was apparently known as skid boarding before they changed it. The company produces a number of different skimboards ranging in shapes, sizes, and materials. They also sponsor a number of pros who have signature boards which is great for the sport.

Zap Skimboards is another well-established skimboard brand that is known around the world. They specialize in professional skimboards designed for larger waves and shore breaks as opposed to just flatland. The skimboards are still handmade in Venice, Florida by a small group of passionate craftsmen. A highly rated skimboarding company and each board is like a work of art.

DB Skimboards are recognized for their flatland skimboards which are some of the best in the world for doing tricks and slides on. They started out making both flatland skimboards and longboard skateboards but soon realized that their passion and customers lied with skimboarding. It started with just four of them working evenings and weekends while they were at college but went full time once they graduated and haven’t looked back since.

Wave Zone Skimboards began as a surf shop that made custom surfboards and skimboards on the side but it wasn’t long before the custom orders overtook the surf shop. Jeff Shinham is the founder and leader of a small tribe that strives for the best quality boards and customer experience. Jeff handles every board that is produced and still does all the custom artwork himself.

They call their skimboards wakeskates or wake surfers but they are basically just skimboards that evolved from wakeboarding without bindings. They have a wide range of skimboards and a ripe history of innovation in the world of water boardsports.

Drisftsun isn’t actually a skimboarding specialist but their brand does focus on kayaking, paddleboarding, and skimboarding which are somewhat related through watersports. They have just two skimboards that they make, a wooden one and a fiberglass option pictured above. Grape Skimboards are definitely on the high end in terms of price but their skimboards are known to be extra lightweight and stiff which makes them agile and fast. They have an amazing gallery of custom skimboard designs on their website but just four basic models are available. Sandfish Board Co. is actually a division of DB Skimboards (mentioned above) that focuses on speed and maneuverability. Made from quality hardwood and a durable HPL base, Sandfish Skimboards are different from most wooden skimboards. They glide for miles and are easy to flick out of the water for tricks on flatland. If you want a decent board to get started with and have some fun then Sandfish Board Co. by DB skimboards are a good place to start.

Founded by Sophia Cecola, South Bay Board Company is a family-run business that has made recent partnerships to ship their products worldwide.

Domke Skimboards was founded by Brad Domke who started competing in skimboarding competitions at the age of 13. Two years later Brad was competing at a professional level and is recognized as the record holder for the biggest wave surfed on a skimboard. Domke is a relatively new brand of skimboard but it is backed by over 18 years of experience in the industry and 25 years of being a skimboarder.
